In an effort to update readers on my history, here are a couple of projects. These were projects that didn’t take me long and were simple designs needed to look OK and fit a particular need.
First, here is my Guitar Center.

This is a simple shelving unit. I needed a few top shelves to have some recording and playback gear (I’m learning to play the guitar and recording yourself and playing it back helps improve your skills). The bottom shelves have adjustable pegs so that I can store my limited but growing song and music books.
Next are my Component Rack in my gym.

I wanted something small that could hold a few components in my home gym so that I would keep most of the room for my gym equipment. I started off with extra shelves for my Home Theater Cabinets since they were nice looking and fit theater components and included venting. I added some structure elements on the side and then a simple cleat for the hanging. It has worked out and meets my requirements and other than collecting dust, looks pretty good.
Both of these projects were made from plywood as it was most about function rather than style.
I can accomplish these types of projects easily enough but have found that I want more design in my projects. That is another one of my motivations on improving my hand skills.
